Alps Creative Co. is legally a for-profit LLC (limited liability corporation). This does not mean that we run our business like corporate America typically runs for-profit companies. To put it simply, one of the main differences between a for-profit and non-profit is the leadership structure. A non-profit has a board of directors who get to appoint the executive director and have a say in all large decisions and how the budget is run. A for-profit allows for a single owner and there does not need to be a board of directors.
Typically, a board of directors is in place for a type of checks and balances for the non-profit organization. The reason that we did not go with this legal structure is because our founder has many goals and visions for this company and does not want to be limited by what a board of directors may or may not allow. Additionally, our founder wanted to retain the rights and ownership to Alps Creative Co.
We strive to be as transparent as a non-profit organization (or even more transparent). We will be running our company with full transparency. One of the steps towards this is the FAQ section where we explain how we plan to be socially responsible and transparent.
If you have any questions about how we run our organization, please feel free to reach out and let us know!
